Portland Wins Round 1

By a score of 10-6, the Portland Pickles have sealed a victory in the Round 1 over the Rochester River Sharks.
"We knew we would be in for a tough series and that's what we got," said first baseman Jeff Cole of the Pickles, who was named the series MVP. "The River Sharks knew how to battle and gave us a good test."
The next test for Portland will come in the Round 2, after winning this series 4-2.
The Portland Pickles don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Eugene Exploding Whales - Phoenix Falcons series. Eugene leads the series 3 games to 2. The Round 2 schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes.
