Sankey Slams 5 Hits for Sarasota
|
5 hits in a game is a rare thing, but Sarasota's Ken Sankey made it happen against the Avalanche. Everything came together at the plate for the 24-year-old second baseman as he collected 5 hits in 5 at-bats -- and helped the Sweeties triumph, 6-2, at Avalanche Ballpark.
"I'm just out there to try and help the team win," Sankey said after the game, "I had some real good at-bats. I made good, solid contact and luckily no one caught 'em."
Ken Sankey singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th and singled in the 8th.
At the moment, Sankey is batting .321 with 1 home run and 7 RBIs. He has played in 19 games and scored 10 times.
