Juan Mercado, the Philadelphia Avalanche 25-year-old left fielder, put himself in the spotlight last week making him the clear-cut choice for CBD Triple A Player of the Week honors. He ripped 11 hits in 25 at-bats, compiling a .440 average with 3 home runs and 10 RBIs. This season, Mercado is swinging the bat at a .342 rate with 94 hits in 275 at-bats. To date he has hit 8 home runs, scored 51 runs and driven in 43. |
