League Suspends Hinson and Ward for Fisticuffs
Friday, September 16th , 2044
If there wasn't a history between Matt Hinson of Philadelphia and Jerry Ward of Nephi, then there is one now. The incident between the two sparked a bench-clearing scrum with those two being the center of attention. Now they will miss 3 and 7 games respectively as a result of their actions. The league office announced their suspensions today.
"We're both really competitive," Hinson said later, "and sometimes things go a little too far because of it."
Hinson on the season is batting .362 with 6 home runs. His totals include 13 RBIs and 12 runs scored. He has played in 17 games.
This year, Ward has chalked up a 3.50 ERA with 8 saves. In 27 relief appearances he has put up a 7-7 won-lost mark and struck out 50 batters in 100.1 innings.
