Big Day for Girling: Swats 5 Hits Monday, June 28th , 2049 Mike Girling of the Flint Coney Dogs went on a hitting spree against the Philadelphia Avalanche pitching staff, racking up 5 hits in 5 at-bats, but to no avail -- the Avalanche put a damper on his day and prevailed, 8-5, over the Coney Dogs. "It was a heck of a day and I was kind of looking forward to a better ending than that," he said later.
