Navarro and Marusak Suspended for Free-for-All Sunday, July 2nd , 2051 Yesterday at Walker Stadium Ozzie Navarro and Adam Marusak got into each other's space and then into each other's face. They began to grapple and fell to the ground. That's when it boiled over into a full-fledged bench-clearing tussle between the Memphis BBQ and Portland Pickles. Reason finally prevailed as the umpires restored order. After much discussion, only the two major combatants were ejected from the game. Today the league office notified the ballclubs that Navarro will have to sit out 4 while Marusak would be given a 6-game suspension for their roles in the brawl. This year, Navarro is hitting .255 with 9 home runs. So far this year, Marusak has been credited with no saves, registered a 4.87 ERA and struck out 67 in 88.2 innings. He also has a 6-6 record. |
