Miguel Vigil Strokes 3 Home Runs
Tuesday, July 6th , 2049
Detroit Tigers left fielder Miguel Vigil put on a dazzling display of power at Tigers Ballpark against the Flint Coney Dogs. In the 8-3 Tigers victory, Vigil penned his name into the record books, slamming a trio of home runs in one of baseball's finest single-day efforts.
"He can hit them out anywhere, right, center, left, it doesn't matter," Flint manager Ayres Canavezes said. "He's super strong and stays on the ball so well."
Along with his three home runs, the 25-year-old had 3 hits in 4 at-bats, 6 RBIs and 3 runs scored.
"Life will always throw you curves, just keep fouling them off," Vigil said after the game, when asked about his hitting philosophy. "The right pitch will come, and when it does, be prepared to run the bases. Or trot around them, like I did today."
Miguel Vigil hit a two-run home run off Alejandro Lamas in the 2nd, flied out in the 4th, hit a three-run home run off Alejandro Lamas in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off Dusty Himelright in the 8th.
At the moment, Vigil is hitting .270 with 4 home runs and 26 RBIs. He has played in 63 games and scored 24 times.
