Austin Defeats Kansas City Sunday, October 18th , 2048 A celebratory mood filled the air as the Austin Toros closed out the season with a 3-2 victory over the Kansas City Kings at Kings Field to capture the Round 3, 4-3. Giving the Kings credit for a hard-fought series, Toros players said they believed throughout the postseason that their "destiny" was to be crowned CBD Triple A champions. "We felt like this was our year all season long," said third baseman Ryan Chiasson, who was named series MVP. "It was our destiny to win it and we did." It was the 2nd in franchise history. During the Division 4 regular season Austin put up a 76-69 record and finished second. "They're the champions and they deserve it," said a dejected Kansas City manager Shigeru Hayashi.
