Salinas 3-4 to Power Kings Offense
|
Los Angeles beat San Antonio at Sportsman's Park, escaping with a 6-5 win. The win in large part was due to left fielder Tom Salinas. He was 3-4 with a home run and 2 doubles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 4. Joey Roberts got credit for the win, improving to 1-1. He allowed no runs on no hits in 1.1 innings. Getting the save was Thomas Lloyd, his 5th.
Salinas had a timely hit for Los Angeles in the bottom of the seventh. With San Antonio trailing 5-3, he turned a 1-1 sinker into a bases-clearing double. It was his 8th double of the season, making it 6-5, Los Angeles.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Salinas. "And not try to do too much."
The Aztecs, now 15-19, have lost 7 in a row.
