Aztecs Solve Buffalo, 5-3
|
The San Antonio Aztecs beat the Buffalo Buffalo, 5-3. San Antonio pitcher and Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, native Marco Pagan led the way. Pagan, now 6-3, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 9 hits, while striking out 6, walking 1, and allowing 3 runs. Chris Nelson finished to wrap up his 2nd save.
The Aztecs got a big at-bat from shortstop Domenico Serraino. For the game, Serraino was 1-4 with a double. He drove in 3 runs. In the bottom of the first, with the bases loaded, he stroked a bases-clearing double. His 8th double of the season gave San Antonio a 3-1 lead.
In postgame comments, Serraino told the San Antonio Times: "Do people still doubt I give 100 percent?"
The Aztecs go to 25-32, putting them second in the Alliance League Dimwits Division.
