Aztecs Slap 4-3 Loss on Empire
|
The San Antonio Aztecs had to overcome a fine effort from New York pitcher Darren Manos to grab a narrow 4-3 win at New York Grounds. Manos went 7 innings and allowed 4 runs. Kang-cheol Bang got the save, the 18th for him this season. The Aztecs improve their record to 34-44 with the win over New York.
Ryan Flood, not known for his power, had a big at-bat with two out in the top of the sixth. That's when he connected on a curveball from Darren Manos for a 2-run home run. His 3rd home run of the season put San Antonio in front, 4-2.
"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Flood told a San Antonio Times reporter. "Sometimes we just need to relax."
