The Kyiv Cossacks met little resistance from the East Haddam Hyenas, beating them, 14-1, at Ballpark of East Haddam. Jorge Hernandez led the way. He was 4 for 5 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 4 for Kyiv. The Cossacks, now 10-4, have played inspired baseball.

Kyiv used a well-timed hit by Eddie Tramacchi to capture the win. The right fielder socked a run-scoring double in the top of the second inning to put the Cossacks ahead, 1-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.

"You can't sugarcoat this one," said East Haddam manager Joe Jankowski. "We got flat-out beat."
