The Sudbury Blueberry Bulldogs weathered a fine game by Wilmington first baseman Danny Gutierrez to upend the Blue Rocks, 9-8, at Bulldogs Ballpark. Gutierrez was 3-5 with 3 doubles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3. Sudbury reliever Eddie Lomeli was the winner. His record is now 1-0. Rodolfo Merlos took the loss. Justin Roeber, who finished 2nd in the FL in saves with 39 in 2050, nailed down the save.

The Blueberry Bulldogs got a big hit from left fielder Albert Bencomo. In the bottom of the eighth, Bencomo smacked a 2-run double off Wilmington pitcher Rodolfo Merlos. It was his 1st double of the season. Suddenly, the Blueberry Bulldogs were ahead, 9-8.

"I felt good up there," said Bencomo. "I saw the ball well."

The Blue Rocks, 6-8, continue their poor start to the 2052 campaign.
