Dublin Dealt 6-3 Defeat
|
The Memphis Chicks picked up a win at Russwood Park, dropping the Dublin Porters, 6-3. Billy Roland, who finished 5th in the FL in innings pitched with 217.0 in 2047, was the difference-maker. The winner was Roland. He threw 7.0 innings allowing 3 runs. The loser was Greg Sebera. The loss drops Dublin to 5-13.
Tied up with the Porters in the bottom of the fifth inning, the Chicks got a boost from first baseman Jim Garnet. With the bases loaded, Garnet saw a 1-2 fastball from Greg Sebera and hit a 2-run single to break the stalemate and put Memphis on top, 4-2.
"Billy executed his pitches at a high level," said Memphis manager Aaron Lazier.
