Brooklyn Beaten, 6-3, by St. Louis
|
The St. Louis Archies picked up a win at Brooklyn Coliseum, taking down the Brooklyn Knights, 6-3. Starting pitcher Nate Edmondson was a big reason why. In 7.1 innings, Edmondson surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 9 and walking 3. He allowed 2 runs. Satoharu Sato earned his 7th save, after closing out the game.
St. Louis used the timely hitting of Rich Reis to seize the win. The center fielder stroked a 2-run single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Archies on top, 5-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"It's the best feeling when you come through for your teammates," said Reis.
Brooklyn falls to 10-11.
