Red Storm center fielder Carlos Jimenez put his stamp on his team's 8-5 win over the Kyiv Cossacks. Jimenez went 2-5 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once for Lansing in the contest. Lansing reliever Sergio Bahena picked up the win, upping his record to 4-2. Jimmy Gold took the loss. The save went to Cameron Elson, his 5th this season.

Jimenez contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Lansing in the top of the ninth. With his team trailing 5-4, Jimenez took a fastball from Jimmy Gold and stroked the home run to center. His 6th home run of the season allowed the Red Storm to leap in front, 7-5.

In postgame comments to the Lansing Chronicle, Jimenez said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."

The Cossacks drop to 12-14 and continue their mediocre start to the 2049 season.
