The Lansing Red Storm beat the Memphis Chicks by a score of 9-4. Lansing third baseman Pete Batley deserved the lion's share of the credit. Batley went 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 3 runs and drove in 2 for the Red Storm. The win puts Lansing at 33-51.

Lansing catcher Dave Anderson helped the Red Storm go up, 6-4, in the bottom of the sixth inning. With the game tied, Anderson hit a 2-run single off Memphis pitcher Dan Elliott.

"Enjoyed this one," Batley told the Lansing Chronicle. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
