Nosediving Red Storm Lose, 7-2
The East Haddam Hyenas topped the Lansing Red Storm, 7-2, in Federation League action at Ballpark of East Haddam. The game was highlighted by the performance of East Haddam right fielder Matt McCauley. The Hyenas raised their record to 37-56.

The Red Storm had been locked in a 2-2 tie with the Hyenas going into the bottom of the sixth inning. That changed quickly when the 25-year old third baseman Jerrod Conners came to the plate. Conners hit a solo home run on a 0-1 cutter from Lansing hurler Kyle Meadors. It was Conners's 19th home run of the year.

"The tide will turn," said losing manager Jim Nerji. "We just need to keep our chins up."
