The Memphis Chicks took Sudbury pitcher Luis Espinoza's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Russwood Park. The final score had Memphis getting past the Blueberry Bulldogs, 3-2. Espinoza went 7 innings and allowed 2 runs, striking out 7. Daniel Forsyth was credited with the save for Memphis, his 16th of the season. Memphis has now won 3 straight, while the Blueberry Bulldogs have lost 5 in a row.

Memphis took the lead, 3-2, on Setsujiro Takahashi's 7th home run of the season. The solo home run came off Sudbury pitcher Brett Richardson in the bottom of the eighth.

"At the end of the day, it's always about your starting pitcher," said Memphis skipper Aaron Lazier.
