Pizzas CF Adams goes 3-for-4 in Win
|
Chris Adams left his imprint on the 9-5 Detroit win against the Buffalo Buffalo. Adams, who finished 5th in the AL in OPS with .950 in 2047, was 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 4. Chad Edwards, the winning pitcher, improved to 4-4. He pitched 6.1 innings, giving up 8 hits and 4 runs, while striking out 2 and walking 0. Detroit is now 51-46. Buffalo is 46-51.
Adam Grizzle took Buffalo hurler Danny Staley deep in the bottom of the sixth. His 3-run home run put the Pizzas on top, 6-3. In all, Grizzle had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.
"I'm proud of the way we took care of business and got the 'W' today," Adams told the Detroit Herald. "Whatever it takes."
