George Belts 2 Homers in 6-2 Win
|
The Yellowstone Super Volcano defeated the Dublin Porters, 6-2. Right Fielder Josh George deserved a large share of the credit. George was 3-4 with 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice for the Super Volcano. Carlos Castaneda picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 7-1. Zion Anthony, who finished 4th in the AL in saves with 33 in 2039, was tagged with the loss. With the victory, the Super Volcano upped their record to 64-34.
Had George not come through in the top of the eighth, who knows how the game would've ended? But with two down, George hit a 3-run home run. The Super Volcano took the lead, 4-2, and never looked back.
"I warned the team before the game," losing manager Hannah Porter told reporters, "that I'm wearing the same pair of undies until we win."
