Los Angeles Topples Yellowstone, 4-1
|
Los Angeles shortstop Xavier Blair contributed significantly to his team's 4-1 win over the Yellowstone Super Volcano. Blair went 1 for 3 with 3 runs scored to lead the offensive attack for the Kings. Los Angeles pitcher Adan Dunning earned the win, hiking his record to 1-1. Justin Kowalick suffered the loss. Eric Barone got the save, his 13th in 16 chances.
Dave Martinez, who is tied for 9th in the AL in hits with 109, had a direct impact on the outcome. Martinez contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the first inning to put Los Angeles up, 1-0.
"Bottom line," said Yellowstone skipper GM AtticaOnline, "we didn't play well enough to win."
By defeating Yellowstone, the last-place Kings improved to 33-66.
