The Memphis Chicks went down to defeat to Steve Thomas and his Portland teammates. The final score was 2-0, in favor of the Beavers. The win elevated the Beavers to 56-43.

Portland took a 2-0 lead on Luke Spradley's 28th double of the season. The 2-run double, which Spradley hit in the top of the eighth, left Memphis pitcher Matt Schille visibly frustrated.
