The Sudbury Blueberry Bulldogs could not turn a fine performance from designated hitter Josh Freeland into a win. Instead, the Lansing Red Storm prevailed, 4-2. Freeland threw 7.1 innings of 4-hit ball. Jeff Pledger closed it out for his 17th save. The Red Storm go to 40-61 with the win.

Tomas Williams had a direct impact on the outcome. Williams contributed a run-scoring hit-by-pitch in the top of the ninth inning to put Lansing up, 4-2.

"We made a couple of mistakes," said Sudbury skipper Lord Parquad, "and it cost us."
