Dragon Warriors Turn Back Brooklyn, 5-3
|
Hanoi Dragon Warriors starter Nick Rennie pitched a strong game against the Brooklyn Knights at Brooklyn Coliseum, leading the Dragon Warriors to victory, 5-3. The winner was Rennie. He threw 8.0 innings of 5-hit ball. The loser was Rafael Torres. Noah Powell recorded his 9th save for Hanoi.
Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Ben Dean? The 24-year old shortstop Dean stroked a 2-run single in the top of the seventh inning to put Hanoi up, 4-2. For the game, he was 2 for 5, including 1 double and 1 single.
"What's not to like about a win?" said Dean.
The Knights, at 20-16, have lost 4 straight games.
