The East Haddam Hyenas beat the Detroit Pizzas, 4-2, at Ballpark of East Haddam. The Hyenas got a fine performance from shortstop Ben Dean, who was 2-3 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. John Motz notched his 19th save in 22 chances. The loss makes Detroit 63-41.

With East Haddam leading 1-0 in the bottom of the fourth, Dean hit a slider from Phil Beard for a 3-run home run. It was his 11th home run of the season and put the Hyenas ahead, 4-0.

"It never gets old," said Dean. "Winning, that is."
