Lansing Red Storm starter Manny Baez was dealing. He helped his team knock off the Arizona Desert Storm, 4-0. The Red Storm go to 42-62 with the win.
Kiyotake Yoshihara had a big run-scoring double for the Red Storm in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Lansing leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he got a sinker from 26-year old left-handed pitcher Mario Martinez and swatted a double to left. It was his 19th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Red Storm ahead, 2-0.
"Trying isn't good enough in this league," said Yoshihara. "You've got to get results."
