Desert Storm Win, Potgeter hits 21st home run
|
Getting a good performance from right fielder Ben Potgeter, the Arizona Desert Storm defeated the Dublin Porters, 7-4. Potgeter was 2-4 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 4 for the Desert Storm. Ronaldo Sardinha, who finished 3rd in the FL in ERA with 3.51 in 2048, was the winner. He's now 9-4. The loser was Eddie Lomeli. Terry Donohue earned his 20th save in 24 chances.
In the bottom of the sixth, with the game tied, the Porters allowed the Desert Storm to take a 5-3 lead on a base hit and Dublin error.
"I'm trying to see the ball big, see the ball up in the zone and put the barrel on it," Potgeter told the Arizona Observer.
The Desert Storm improved their record to 54-52 with the win over Dublin.
