The Detroit Pizzas trumped the Brooklyn Knights, 7-4, at Pizzas Ballpark. Detroit third baseman John Herndon was terrific. He went 2 for 4 with a home run, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. John Hoover picked up the win, improving his season record to 7-3. He struck out 5 in 6 innings. Jose Bautista, credited with the save, is now 10 for 13 in save opportunities.

With Detroit trailing 2-1 in the bottom of the second, Herndon hit a fastball from Josh Deere for a 2-run home run. It was his 8th home run of the season and put the Pizzas ahead, 3-2.

"We're feeling good in this clubhouse right now after that one," Herndon told the Detroit Bulletin.

The triumph puts Detroit at 64-42 for the season.
