Both teams had their chances, but the Buffalo Buffalo eventually prevailed.

The Pittsburgh Yinzers could not turn a fine performance from pitcher Dan Coffman into a win. Instead, the Buffalo Buffalo prevailed, 4-3, in 11 innings. Coffman came in in relief and pitched to 28 batters. Reliever Randy Nelson picked up the win. His record improves to 1-2. Sam Davis took the loss.

Buffalo used a timely hit from Bob Luffman to get the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the 11th inning to put the Buffalo ahead, 4-3. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a difference-maker.

"It's nice to deliver when your team's counting on you," said Luffman.

Buffalo is 21-17 and Pittsburgh, with the loss, 18-20.
