Los Angeles registered a win at Volcano Ballpark by beating the Yellowstone Super Volcano, 6-5. Pitcher Jon Avery was one reason why the Kings triumphed. With the win, Los Angeles has a record of 49-61. Yellowstone falls to 69-41.

Los Angeles used the bat of Brett Artis to get the win. The catcher hit a fastball from Art Madsen out of the park for a 3-run home run. The blast came in the top of the second inning and put the Kings on top, 3-0. It was Artis's lone hit, but it left a mark.

"Jon was dictating to their hitters," said Los Angeles manager Jim KP.
