Sugar Kings Prevail, 3-2, Over Wilmington
|
Opening day festivities have begun throughout the league. Fans of the Wilmington Blue Rocks were eager to watch Sam Davis square off against Fedya Nosov of the visiting Havana Sugar Kings. In the end, the Sugar Kings won the game, 3-2, with Fedya Nosov leading the way.
Jay Wesner, who finished 3rd in the AL in doubles with 42 last year, helped out the Havana cause in the top of the seventh inning with a run-scoring double. For the game, the left fielder was 2-5 with a double.
"We've got a great group of guys," Nosov said, "and we're having fun right now."
