Yellowstone got a terrific performance from pitcher Mike Martinez, but it wasn't enough to beat the Portland Beavers. Portland won the Beavers Park contest, 6-5. Martinez threw 8.0 innings of shutout ball for the losing team. Greg Lee earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1.2 innings. He upped his record to 2-4. The last-place Beavers go to 48-63.

Tyler Baldacci played the role of hero for Portland. In the bottom of the ninth, he launched a solo home run off Ryan Podolsky to win the game. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was the decisive blow.

"Sometimes you get the ball in the right spot and it goes," said Baldacci.
