Dragon Warriors Suffer 8-2 Road Loss
|
Due in large part to designated hitter Bobby Blank, the Yellowstone Super Volcano sunk the Hanoi Dragon Warriors, 8-2. Blank went 2-4 with a home run, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3. Yellowstone pitcher Art Madsen earned the win, hiking his record to 9-4. Jon Gilson suffered the loss. Chris Hakes notched his 1st save in 1 chances.
Andres Jaquez had a big 3-run home run for the Super Volcano in the bottom of the third inning. With Yellowstone trailing 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he sized up a splitter from Jon Gilson, who is tied for 10th in the AL in innings pitched with 144.1, and punished it. The result was his 31st home run of the season, which put the Super Volcano on top, 3-1.
"Every time you put a 'W' on the board is always good," said Blank.
The win elevated the Super Volcano to 59-53.
