Pizzas Earn 3-1 Road Win Over Brooklyn
|
Phil Beard pitched a gem to lead Detroit to victory over the Brooklyn Knights, 3-1. Beard got the win, improving to 13-4. He gave up 7 hits and walked 1 over 6 innings. He allowed 1 run. The defeat makes Brooklyn 53-60.
Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Rourke Hamburg? The former first round draft pick Hamburg stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the eighth inning to put Detroit up, 3-1. For the game, he was 2 for 4, including 1 double and 1 single.
