Rios drives in 4 runs in Sudbury Win
|
Behind a solid performance from second baseman Lorenzo Rios, the Sudbury Blueberry Bulldogs defeated the Arizona Desert Storm, 6-5. Rios was 2-2 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 4 runs and scored once for the Blueberry Bulldogs. Josh Deere got credit for the win, improving to 6-2. He allowed 2 runs on 4 hits in 8 innings. With the win, Sudbury has a record of 24-20. Arizona falls to 21-21.
With Sudbury leading 4-1 in the bottom of the fourth, Rios hit a 2-run single off Arizona hurler Terry Donohue. It was the 28th hit of the season for Rios and put his team ahead, 6-1.
"If you want to be considered a good team, these are the kind of games you have to win," said Sudbury manager Coach John.
