Arizona designated hitter Chris Nicotra had a 4-RBI game, which helped his team beat the Kyiv Cossacks, 15-8. Jason Walker picked up his 1st save of the season. The win for the Desert Storm lifted their record to 23-22.

The Desert Storm got an important contribution from shortstop Joe Gainey, who in the top of the second knocked a 2-1 curveball to left for a 2-run double. It was his 12th double of the season and put the Desert Storm ahead, 3-0.

"I don't care about style points," Nicotra said. "I only care about winning."
