Cossacks Rally Late to Nip Blueberry Bulldogs
Kyiv Grounds was the site of a competitive game between the Sudbury Blueberry Bulldogs and Kyiv Cossacks.

The Kyiv Cossacks besoiled an otherwise fine performance by Sudbury second baseman Andy Neufeld by beating the Blueberry Bulldogs, 4-3, at Kyiv Grounds. Neufeld went 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. The win went to Adrian Ducote in relief, making him now 1-6. Eric Barone took the loss for Sudbury. Evan King recorded his 10th save for Kyiv.

Kyle Alcala hit a solo home run off Eric Barone in the bottom of the eighth, which put the Cossacks ahead, 4-3. In addition to the homer, Alcala had 1 double, while going 2 for 4.

Said losing manager Lord Parquad: "Not taking anything away from them, but we swung the bats better than what it showed."

Kyiv is in third place in the Federation League Knuckleheads Division with a record of 20-25.
