Kings Win at Home, 3-0
|
Though the conditions were not ideal, the Los Angeles Kings and Brooklyn Knights came back from a rain delay to finish their game.
Los Angeles pitcher Toby Guinn had a large part in his team subduing the Brooklyn Knights, 3-0. The opposition could never mount much of a rally against the right-hander. The winner was Guinn. He threw 6.0 innings of shutout ball. The loser was Greg McDowell. Jim Davis recorded the save for Los Angeles, his 9th of the season.
The Kings had to work out of trouble in the top of the ninth. The score was 3-0, Los Angeles, with one out. Brooklyn, with runners on 1st and 2nd, was mounting a threat. Grant Ferguson dug in at the plate, but on a 2-0 fastball, he grounded out.
The win puts Los Angeles at 19-28.
