Beavers Take Down Hyenas, 4-3
|
The Portland Beavers locked up a win at Beavers Park, knocking off the East Haddam Hyenas, 4-3. On the mound for Portland was left-hander Sam Davis. He played a major role in the triumph. Portland now has a record of 59-56 with the win.
An inflection point occurred with two out in the bottom of the eighth. That's when Beavers center fielder Matt Lamons hit a sinker from Jin-woong Yang for a 2-run single. Just like that, Portland was up, 4-3.
"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," Lamons told the Portland Times.
