Archies Get 7-4 Win Versus Brooklyn
|
The St. Louis Archies picked up a win at Team2 Ballpark, dropping the Brooklyn Knights, 7-4. Spencer Hay, who finished 4th in the FL in ERA with 3.73 in 2048, was the difference-maker. Jesus Gutierrez recorded the save for St. Louis, his 32nd of the season. The Archies are now 75-39, while the Knights fall to 53-61.
Aaron Kaplan had a big bases-clearing double for the Archies in the bottom of the seventh inning. With St. Louis leading 4-1 and the bases loaded, he got a fastball from 22-year old right-handed pitcher Eric White and swatted a double to left. It was his 14th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Archies ahead, 7-1.
"We'll take some time to unwind," said Kaplan, "and then get after it again."
