Engels Slaps 5 Hits
It was a good day at Sugardome II. The Havana Sugar Kings whipped the Portland Beavers, 6-4, and right fielder Jason Engels showed off a hot bat, going 5-for-5 at the plate.

"Some days, lady luck is on your side," Engels told BNN reporters after the game.

Sugar Kings manager The Baron told the beat writers otherwise, calling the 28-year-old "focused and patient."

"It's not luck," he said. "He has a solid approach to hitting. Jason hits to all fields. The more solid at-bats you put together, the more success you're going to have."

Jason Engels hit a solo-shot off Jason Scothorn in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, hit an RBI double in the 5th, singled in the 6th and singled in the 8th.

Thus far this year, Engels is batting .321 with 26 home runs, 91 RBIs and 64 runs scored.
