Jacob Jeffries made an impact in the 7-3 Arizona win over St. Louis. Jeffries, who is tied for 6th in the FL in triples with 3, was 2 for 4 with 2 home runs. He scored 3 runs and drove in 3. Andy Buhrke collected his 30th save. The second-place Desert Storm go to 60-57.

Arizona designated hitter Kevin Spencer landed a blow when he belted a solo home run in the top of the second. It was his 8th home run of the season. With it, the Desert Storm took a 2-0 lead.

"I tried to mix it up, keep them off balance," said Spencer.
