"Jon was just locating so well and using his pitches," Hanoi manager GM Schnee said later. "He wasn't leaving anything over the plate."

Gilson recorded 7 strikeouts and no walks in a strong outing.

"When he needed to make pitches, he elevated his game," Dublin manager Hannah Porter said in postgame comments to BNN. "We couldn't get a key hit off him."

In 23 starts this season, Gilson has fashioned a 12-8 record and a 4.28 ERA.
