Knights Lose, 8-5, in 11
|
The Waikiki Wayfinders topped the Brooklyn Knights, 8-5, at Brooklyn Coliseum. Waikiki third baseman Steve Buffington was a spark plug for the offense. He went 2 for 5 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 3 times and driving in 2. The Wayfinders raised their record to 47-71.
The game was all tied up in the top of the 11th, until Buffington delivered big-time for Waikiki, stroking a dramatic run-scoring single off Tanner Denny. The game-changing hit put the Wayfinders on top, 6-5.
"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Waikiki manager GM Yokotuna.
