Zack Alvarez, who finished 3rd in the AL in ERA with 3.21 in 2049, imposed his will on the Beavers from the get-go. Relying mainly on his curveball, the left-hander spearheaded the 4-0 Havana triumph. The win makes Havana 60-59.

Alvarez, now 7-8, scattered 3 hits over 8.2 innings for the Sugar Kings.

"Zack was really attacking guys' weaknesses and he didn't leave a lot of balls over the plate," said Havana field general The Baron.
