Waikiki parlayed a decent outing from starter Chris Wilkoff into a solid win over the East Haddam Hyenas. The final score was 9-4. Wilkoff, now 6-5, was the winner. In 6.2 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 11, walking 0, and allowing 1 run. The Waikiki win streak is now 5 games.
Mike Bitzer had a big 2-run double for the Wayfinders in the bottom of the first inning. With Waikiki leading 2-1 and runners on 1st and 3rd, he got a changeup from 24-year old right-handed pitcher Seth Martin and swatted a double to center. It was his 24th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Wayfinders ahead, 4-1.
"I found a nice groove out there," said Wilkoff.
