Limeburner Helps Brooklyn Cruise to 11-3 Win
|
Brooklyn catcher Will Limeburner contributed significantly to his team's 11-3 win over the East Haddam Hyenas. Limeburner, who is a three-time All-Star, went 4 for 4 with 2 runs scored to lead the offensive attack for the Knights. Jim Steeb, the winner, improved to 11-12. He held East Haddam to 2 runs on 3 hits over 7.1 innings, while racking up 12 strikeouts. The win makes Brooklyn 62-59.
Jesse Wallace drove in one run for Brooklyn. The 23-year old second baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the sixth. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 2-2 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Joe Bass. It was his 2nd RBI of the season.
"We came out aggressive," said Knights manager Enoch Tang. "We came out swinging the bats."
