St. Louis Archies starter Spencer Hay pitched well against the Portland Beavers at Team2 Ballpark, leading his team to a win, 8-3. The first-place Archies, at 74-45, now lead their division by 10½ games.

Dan Sims, who is tied for 6th in the FL in stolen bases with 19, took Portland hurler Sam Davis deep in the bottom of the first. His 2-run home run put the Archies on top, 2-0. In all, Sims had 2 singles in addition to the home run, while going 3 for 4.
