Arizona first baseman Jay Marshall was sensational. He went 2-4 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. But it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Detroit beat the Desert Storm, 6-5. Detroit reliever Julio Diaz picked up the win, upping his record to 3-5. Terry Donohue was saddled with the loss. The Pizzas improved to 63-58.

The game came to a climactic end in the bottom of the ninth. With Detroit trailing 5-4, Rourke Hamburg delivered the big blow, hitting a changeup from Terry Donohue for a 2-run home run. Just like that, the Pizzas had a walk-off win.

"What an exhilarating win!" said Hamburg.
