Red Storm Earn 7-5 Win Against Kings
The Lansing Red Storm knocked off the Los Angeles Kings, 7-5, in Federation League action at Sportsman's Park. Lansing pitcher and Whitehall, Pennsylvania, native Manny Baez had an outstanding performance. Lansing reliever Jeff Pledger picked up the win, raising his record to 3-7. Jim Davis was tagged with the loss. Los Angeles, at 48-72, has lost 5 straight.

A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. In the top of the 11th, with the game tied, Brian Bashaw was at the plate when Lansing scored 2 on an error. The miscue enabled the Red Storm to go in front, 7-5.

"Getting ahead of the hitters was the key," said Baez.
