Porters Pocket 5-2 Win Against Hanoi
|
The exploits of third baseman Travis Perez helped the Dublin Porters defeat the Hanoi Dragon Warriors, 5-2. Perez was 2 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Ben Verville picked up the win, improving his season record to 10-5. He struck out 8 in 6.2 innings. Dublin has a record of 54-67, placing them third in the Federation League Knuckleheads Division.
Perez had a timely hit for Dublin in the bottom of the sixth. With Dublin trailing 2-1, he turned a 0-2 changeup into a grand slam home run. It was his 2nd home run of the season, making it 5-2, Dublin.
"I just tried to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Perez.
